About Me:
My name is Dr. Vanessa Bowles and my office is in the main office. I have been a School Counselor at Duplessis for 20+ years and love working with our students!
When You Need My Help…
- K-2 Teachers may complete a referral for their students online.
- 3-5 students can complete referral online (they know this process).
- All parents can submit an online referral under Duplessis’ page and Counseling Corner
What to Expect:
My goal as your counselor is to help you grow personally, academically and socially. You can tell me about anything that may be bothering you. I want you to feel safe knowing that I will not tell other people what you share with me unless I have to for your safety or the safety of someone else. Together, you and I will try to come up with ways to deal with situations
The Duty of a School Counselor:
It is my duty to try to make sure that our school is safe for everyone. All counseling sessions are confidential unless you tell me that you want to hurt yourself, hurt someone else, or someone wants to hurt you. I must report these types of situations to other people, such as the principal, guardian(s), or even the police. This may be done to protect you and to protect others before something bad happens.
